- Admission of the prosecution's cumulative uncharged-misconduct evidence. The trial court abused its discretion by admitting the extensive evidence of alleged infidelity, embezzlement, mail fraud, tax violations, and debt because most of it lacked a demonstrated logical nexus to the murder, the record did not show the required Rule 403 balancing, and the cumulative presentation amounted to impermissible shotgunning.
- Harmlessness of the evidentiary errors. The errors could not be regarded as harmless, and the murder conviction had to be reversed and the case remanded.
