The Court held that substantial evidence supported the first-degree murder and evidence-tampering convictions, but not the kidnapping conviction, because the State’s theories of force or deception and intent to hold the victim for service depended on speculation.
The court reversed the dismissal of package drivers’ Minimum Wage Act claims, holding that Section 301 does not preempt claims based on nonnegotiable state-law rights that can be resolved without interpreting a collective-bargaining agreement.

The court affirmed Duffy’s felony-murder and tampering-with-evidence convictions but vacated his robbery conviction because imposing punishment for both robbery and felony murder violated double jeopardy.
