The Kansas Supreme Court held that incarceration of a parent, standing alone, does not justify suspension or modification of that parent's child support obligation under the Kansas Child Support Guidelines, and reversed the district court's order suspending support.

The Kansas Supreme Court affirmed the district court’s dismissal of the plaintiffs’ 42 U.S.C. §1983 claims and Kansas Tort Claims Act damage claims, holding that the court lacked subject‑matter jurisdiction and that the judges’ actions are protected judicial functions.
