Summary

The Court held that Georgia's constitutional standing rules do not permit a plaintiff to maintain an action by asserting only the rights of a nonparty under the federal doctrine of third-party standing. It overruled the prior adoption of that doctrine, rejected the argument that applying Georgia's neutral standing rule to a federal claim violates the Supremacy Clause, and vacated and remanded for consideration of Wasserman's newly raised assignment theory. No separate opinions were filed.
