Summary

The Supreme Court of Puerto Rico suspended five attorneys for repeated noncompliance with continuing legal education requirements and, for several attorneys, failure to respond to the court and maintain current registration information. The court held that economic hardship, employment-related difficulties, repeated nonappearances, and failure to update contact information did not excuse the violations or prevent immediate and indefinite suspension. It also ordered client notifications, return of unearned fees, notice to courts and agencies, and, for two attorneys, seizure of their notarial records and seals.
