Summary

The Supreme Court of Puerto Rico affirmed a second first-degree murder conviction and death sentence of Juan Rosado Colón. It held the corpus delicti was established by independent evidence (the corpse, autopsy, and circumstances) so the defendant's voluntary extrajudicial confession was admissible, and rejected challenges to six jury instructions, including those on robbery-murder, burden of proving exculpation, circumstantial evidence, jury credibility determinations, reasonable doubt, and lesser degree of murder.
