Summary
On de novo review, the court found by clear and convincing evidence that respondent violated the rule governing criminal conduct adversely reflecting on a lawyer’s fitness and the rules requiring communication with clients. The court concluded that respondent’s intentional shooting into an occupied law office and knowing failure to inform clients about his withdrawal and a pending summary judgment motion warranted a five-year suspension rather than the three-year suspension imposed below.
