The court held that the defendant preserved his challenge to the admission of the investigating officer’s testimony because the grounds for the objection were apparent from context. The court assumed without deciding that the testimony was improper lay opinion, but held that any error was not prejudicial because substantially similar evidence was admitted without objection and was elicited during cross-examination. The court therefore reversed the Court of Appeals’ decision ordering a new trial.
