Summary
The Court of Appeals held that the Workers' Compensation Board's prevalence framework for determining whether workplace exposure caused COVID-19 is consistent with the Workers' Compensation Law. Applying substantial-evidence review, the court upheld the Board's findings that claimant's workplace exposure caused his COVID-19 infection and that the infection consequentially caused his stroke. The court therefore affirmed the Appellate Division's order.
