The New York Court of Appeals held that section 183-a of the Judiciary Law requiring full‑time district attorneys in certain counties to be paid at least the salary of county court judges does not violate the home‑rule provisions of article IX nor the mid‑term salary freeze in article XIII, and therefore district attorneys are entitled to the statutory compensation both prospectively and retroactively.
