Summary

The Supreme Court of New Jersey affirmed the judgment against the student who shot the paper clip, the school principal, and the Board of Education, holding that the principal and the Board owed a duty of reasonable supervision beginning at 8 a.m., breached that duty, and were proximate causes of the injury; the court also ordered the judgment to be apportioned half to the student and half to the Board (including the principal) as joint tortfeasors.
