Summary

The court affirmed the civil commitment order because the custody-credit statute applies only to confinement credited against a criminal sentence imposed after conviction, not to a preventive and treatment-oriented civil commitment. It also held that the conditional-release statute provides no credit mechanism because Rogers had never been conditionally released. The court therefore concluded that Rogers was not entitled to credit for more than 40 years spent imprisoned under a vacated conviction.
