Nevada Supreme Court
RBR Management, LLC v. the Eighth Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada, in and for the County of Clark
June 18, 2026142 Nev. Adv. Op. No. 44
Summary
The court denied extraordinary writ relief and held that EMS providers are not statutory providers of health care and that ambulances are not clinics under Nevada's professional-negligence statutes. Because the claims against the ambulance company therefore were not professional-negligence claims, the estate was not required to file an expert affidavit with its complaint. The court also concluded that the statutory definition of provider of health care is exclusive and does not permit judicially created functional equivalents.
