Nevada Supreme Court
Franceschi v. Lg Chem, Ltd.
December 18, 2025141 Nev. Adv. Op. No. 65
Summary
The Nevada Supreme Court affirmed dismissal of Franceschi's products-liability claims for lack of specific personal jurisdiction. Although LG purposefully availed itself of Nevada by selling batteries for incorporation into products distributed there, Franceschi's injuries arose from a standalone battery that entered Nevada through a different, unauthorized stream of commerce. Because his injuries did not arise out of or relate to LG's Nevada contacts, the court held that specific jurisdiction was unavailable.
