Nebraska Supreme Court

State v. Clausen

January 24, 2025318 Neb. 375

Summary

The court held that “working days” in the statutory definition of temporary domicile means Mondays through Fridays, excluding legal holidays, and not any three-day period. Applying that interpretation, the court concluded that the State’s evidence did not establish that Clausen stayed at the Washington County residence for three consecutive working days or more than three consecutive days. The court therefore reversed his conviction and vacated his sentence.
