Mississippi Supreme Court

S.D.P. and I.T.A. v. Harrison County Department of Child Protection Services, By Marcus D. Davenport, and I.T.A…

November 21, 2024

Summary

The Mississippi Supreme Court affirmed termination of both parents' parental rights because clear and convincing evidence showed that, despite more than two years of services and training, they remained unable to safely care for their medically fragile child. The Court also held that the parents waived their challenge to the guardian ad litem's investigation and report by failing to raise it in the youth court.
