The court held that the Commissioner of Education had statutory authority to audit a charter school under the aid-distribution and pupil-count audit statute after receiving allegations of fraudulent attendance reporting. The audit statute permitted adjustment of aid based on disparities between reported and audited pupil counts, and nothing in the statute governing aid reductions for violations of law required the Department to proceed exclusively under that provision. The court therefore affirmed the court of appeals.
