Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court
In the Matter of the Discipline of Two Attorneys
May 7, 2025
Summary
The court affirmed the single justice's private admonitions imposed on two attorneys for failing to perform required three-way IOLTA reconciliations and for failing to timely disburse accumulated funds. Although the court deferred substantially to the board's recommendation of public reprimands, it independently reviewed the sanction and concluded that the private admonitions, together with quarterly IOLTA-record reviews for one year, were not markedly disparate from sanctions in comparable matters.
