Supreme Court of Maryland

In the Matter of the Petition of Hosein

August 14, 2023

Summary

The Court held that the fifteen-day extension in Maryland’s COVID-19 administrative tolling orders applied only to filing deadlines suspended during the closure of clerks’ offices from March 16, 2020 through July 20, 2020. Because the petitioner’s thirty-day deadline arose after that closure, the extension did not apply and his petition for judicial review was untimely. The Court therefore affirmed dismissal.
