Supreme Court of Maryland

Attorney Grievance Comm'n v. Weinberg

August 31, 2023485 Md. 504

Summary

The Court sustained Weinberg’s exceptions to the alleged violations involving competence and assisting a client in unlawful conduct because the replacement home-detention order reasonably appeared to supersede the earlier no-contact condition. The Court nevertheless upheld findings that Weinberg knowingly made false representations about a victim’s anticipated testimony, made reckless and false accusations about judges in court and through a widely disseminated flyer, and engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice. The Court imposed an indefinite suspension with the right to apply for reinstatement after six months.
