Supreme Court of Maryland

Attorney Grievance Comm'n v. Pierre

August 16, 2023485 Md. 56

Summary

The Court independently reviewed the disciplinary record, sustained many of Marylin Pierre's factual and legal exceptions, and found violations based on one knowingly or recklessly false campaign statement about judges and a misleading omission on her New York bar application. It rejected the remaining alleged violations, including claims concerning other campaign statements, judicial-application answers, employment history, and delayed cooperation with Bar Counsel. Considering the misconduct and the unusual timing and circumstances of the investigation, the Court imposed a reprimand rather than disbarment or no sanction.
