Supreme Court of Maryland
Attorney Grievance v. Taniform
December 16, 2022482 Md. 272
Summary
The Court sustained the hearing judge’s findings that Terence Taniform incompetently and negligently handled two immigration matters, failed to communicate with clients, mishandled and delayed returning client funds, and repeatedly made intentional misrepresentations. The Court also upheld the findings of dishonest or selfish motive, a pattern of misconduct, and victim vulnerability. Although disbarment was considered, the Court imposed an indefinite suspension with the right to seek reinstatement after 18 months, subject to mental-health certification and attorney monitoring.
