Summary

The court found that William Magee knowingly created and recorded fictitious quitclaim deeds, failed to disclose their self-dealing and defective nature during default proceedings, and falsely represented that he acquired an interest in the properties through them. Those actions violated the duties of candor toward a tribunal and the prohibition against dishonest, fraudulent, or deceitful conduct, warranting a two-year suspension. The court declined to decide the underlying civil validity of Magee’s title-acquisition procedure.
