Supreme Court of Louisiana
In Re: Nichole Goudeau
August 31, 2018251 So. 3d 393
Summary
The court found that Nichole Goudeau violated the Rules of Professional Conduct by practicing law while ineligible, charging an unreasonable fee, and failing to refund her client's deposit. Because she knowingly caused actual harm, continued to remain ineligible, and failed to make restitution, the court imposed a suspension of one year and one day and ordered restitution with legal interest. Hughes, J., dissenting, would have imposed the lesser sanction recommended by the hearing committee.
