Supreme Court of Louisiana
In Re: Gregory Cook
December 5, 2018
Summary
The court found that Gregory Cook negligently created and continued a conflict of interest by omitting a client from his mother's intestate succession and later representing the omitted client's siblings against him. Because the misconduct caused substantial actual harm, the court imposed a six-month suspension, deferred all but thirty days, and ordered one year of probation conditioned on ethics training and restitution. The court also ordered restitution of $600 plus legal interest and assessed costs against Cook.
