Summary

The Illinois Supreme Court held that defendant's handmade collages using identifiable children's images and inserted penis images constituted child pornography under the applicable statute and that prohibiting possession of such morphed child pornography did not violate the First Amendment. The court also held that the victim's testimony and other evidence independently corroborated defendant's admissions sufficiently to satisfy the corpus delicti rule for the affirmed sexual-offense convictions. The appellate court's judgment was affirmed, while the circuit court's judgment remained affirmed in part and reversed in part.
