Summary

The court held that the trial court complied with Rule 431(b) by reciting the four required principles together, asking whether the jurors understood and accepted them, and permitting group show-of-hands responses. It nevertheless held that the restitution order was plain error because the record contained no sufficient evidentiary basis for the amount imposed.
