Summary

The court affirmed Riley’s convictions, holding that the State did not violate due process because no agreement or understanding to provide Bush leniency in the unrelated Troup County case existed before Riley’s trial. The court also held that Riley failed to establish prejudice from counsel’s failure to cross-examine Bush about that case because counsel had already presented substantial impeachment evidence concerning Bush’s express cooperation agreement in the murder prosecution. All justices concurred.
