Summary

The Court upheld the findings that Toombs violated client-communication and disciplinary-honesty rules by failing to address an attorney-fee award, failing to pursue or explain available remedies, and misrepresenting that he had filed a motion for reconsideration. Although the misconduct warranted substantial discipline, the Court concluded that disbarment was excessive in light of Toombs’s good character evidence and remote prior offenses, and imposed a two-year suspension. All the Justices concurred.
