Carridine v. State

Summary

The court affirmed Carridine’s convictions for malice murder and the other offenses, concluding that the evidence was constitutionally sufficient and that the trial court properly denied a continuance to seek private counsel. It also held that Carridine knowingly and intelligently waived his right to counsel after an extensive colloquy and repeatedly refused to proceed with appointed counsel. The court nevertheless vacated the felony-murder sentence because malice murder and felony murder were based on the death of the same victim. There were no separate opinions.
