Summary

The court affirmed Bryant’s convictions for malice murder, two aggravated assaults, and firearm-possession offenses, rejecting his sufficiency, justification, evidentiary, prosecutorial-conduct, and ineffective-assistance claims. It held that the evidence permitted the jury to reject self-defense and find malice and intent to injure, and that Bryant’s unpreserved claims did not satisfy plain-error or preservation requirements. The court vacated the aggravated-assault conviction and sentence involving Eldridge because that offense merged into the malice-murder conviction, and corrected the felony-murder disposition as vacated by operation of law.
