Supreme Court of Georgia

Burroughs v. Strength of Nature Global, LLC (two Cases)

October 15, 2025

Summary

The Court held that Georgia's ten-year statute of repose for strict products-liability claims applies separately to each unit of a product sold as new to an intended end user, rather than to all units sold over time as a single group. Because Burroughs alleged that some units were sold within ten years before suit and could have caused her injury, her claims could not be dismissed at the pleading stage. The Court reversed the Court of Appeals in part and remanded.
