Summary

The Supreme Court of Georgia affirmed Tarver’s convictions for murder and related offenses. It assumed, without deciding, that the trial court erred in excluding evidence of the victim’s prior violence and Tarver’s recorded police interview, but held that both possible errors were harmless because the excluded evidence was cumulative and the evidence against Tarver was strong. The court also declined to address Tarver’s contingent ineffective-assistance claim because the evidentiary issues were preserved.
