Summary

The Supreme Court of Georgia affirmed Jiles’s convictions for felony murder and related offenses. It held that any error in omitting an accomplice-corroboration instruction did not affect the verdict and rejected each of Jiles’s ineffective-assistance claims because counsel’s challenged decisions were reasonable or caused no prejudice. The court also concluded that the combined effect of the assumed errors did not deprive Jiles of a fundamentally fair trial.
