Rooks v. the State (two Cases)

Summary

The court affirmed the convictions of Rooks and Clark for murder and related offenses. It held that the evidence, viewed under the constitutional sufficiency standard, authorized the jury to find that both defendants intentionally aided the killing and related crimes, including the gang-activity offenses. The court also held that the trial court properly admitted evidence of Clark’s participation in a later murder to prove intent and that any error in admitting evidence of later drug- and firearm-related conduct was harmless. The court rejected Clark’s challenge to the general grounds for a new trial because that issue was not reviewable on appeal.
