Perrault v. State

Summary

The Supreme Court of Georgia affirmed Perrault’s convictions for malice murder and simple battery. It held that the evidence was sufficient under both Georgia statutory law and constitutional due process to support the jury’s rejection of suicide as an alternative hypothesis. The court also declined to review the venue claim because Perrault withdrew his motion before the trial court ruled, and rejected the cumulative-error and ineffective-assistance claims because they were inadequately presented and unsupported.
