The Supreme Court of Georgia affirmed Wilson's convictions, holding that he failed to establish deficient performance by trial counsel. Counsel was not ineffective for declining to object to the out-of-court statement about Gordon's alleged infidelity because it was introduced to show its effect on Wilson and was not testimonial. Counsel also reasonably pursued an accident defense supported by the evidence, including the bullet's trajectory, and the jury's rejection of that defense defeated Wilson's claim.
