Summary

The court held that the trial court abused its discretion by admitting generalized testimony about Mexican and Latino cultural characteristics because the testimony did not make it more or less probable that the victim delayed reporting because of those characteristics. The court nevertheless affirmed the convictions because the error was harmless: the testimony did not materially prejudice the defendant, was largely cumulative of properly admitted expert testimony, was not emphasized by the State, and was unlikely to have affected the verdict.
