Supreme Court of Georgia
Strickland v. State
March 1, 2021311 Ga. 18
Summary
The court affirmed Strickland’s convictions for malice murder and armed robbery, holding that the evidence, including circumstantial evidence and Strickland’s conduct before and after the killing, was sufficient for a rational juror to find guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The court also held that post-trial text messages did not warrant a new trial because Strickland failed to show that the juror’s alleged nondisclosure reflected bias or would have required dismissal for cause. The felony-murder sufficiency claim was moot because that count was vacated by operation of law.
