Supreme Court of Georgia

Pindling v. State

April 5, 2021311 Ga. 232

Summary

The court reversed Pindling’s convictions because the trial court instructed the jury that a single witness’s testimony could establish a fact without also instructing that accomplice testimony required corroboration. Although the issue was unpreserved, the omission was plain error because the accomplice’s testimony was the principal evidence linking Pindling to the shooting and the independent evidence was not overwhelming.
