Mims v. State

Summary

The court affirmed Mims’s convictions for malice murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. Applying the constitutional sufficiency standard, it held that a rational jury could reject Mims’s account that he acted uncontrollably, in self-defense, or under irresistible passion, and could find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The court also declined to consider his passing request for a new competency evaluation because that issue was not included in his enumeration of error.
