Thornton v. State

Summary

The court affirmed the obstruction convictions, holding that a Department of Natural Resources game warden was authorized to enforce the Rules of the Road and to direct Thornton to stop conduct violating those rules. Although the Rules of the Road do not apply to every privately owned parking lot, they apply to a parking lot customarily used by the public as a through or connector street, and the evidence supported that finding here. The court therefore concluded that the game warden was lawfully performing his duties when Thornton resisted and drove away.
