Reyes v. State

Summary

The court affirmed Reyes’s convictions for malice murder and related offenses. It held that circumstantial evidence, including Reyes’s threats, access to the victim and murder weapon, flight, and DNA evidence, was sufficient; that the victim’s statements were properly admitted under the residual hearsay exception; and that counsel was not constitutionally ineffective for declining to suppress the DNA evidence or for failing to use additional translations of a witness interview.
