Summary
The court affirmed Tyner's convictions and life sentence after finding no reversible error in the admission of victim statements under the residual hearsay exception, the admission of investigating-officer testimony, or the admission of evidence related to the time-barred robbery charge. Any hearsay error was harmless or did not satisfy plain-error review because the evidence of guilt, including Tyner's statements to police, was overwhelming. The court also held that the felony-murder counts were vacated by operation of law and declined to correct additional merger errors that benefited Tyner. No separate opinions were filed.
