Summary

The court held that Georgia's forum non conveniens statute does not authorize dismissal of an action in favor of a forum in a foreign country. Reading the statute as a whole, the court concluded that the statute's reference to a forum "outside this state" is limited to forums in other states because the limitations-waiver requirement applies only to other states of the United States. The court therefore reversed the Court of Appeals' judgment affirming dismissal.
