Timmons v. State

Summary

The court held that the evidence was sufficient to support Timmons's convictions, but that the aggravated-assault and aggravated-battery convictions merged into the felony-murder conviction and their sentences had to be vacated. The court also held that Facebook posts showing Timmons's alleged violent character were improperly admitted because raising self-defense did not, by itself, open the door to character evidence, but concluded the error was harmless because it was highly probable that the evidence did not contribute to the verdicts.
