Supreme Court of Georgia

Steplight v. State

May 30, 2017301 Ga. 272

Summary

The court held that the evidence was insufficient to sustain Steplight’s terroristic-threats conviction because his statements were made to third parties without evidence that he intended or expected them to be conveyed to Mobley. The court affirmed the remaining convictions, concluding that the evidence supported them and that any error in excluding forensic-toxicology testimony about cocaine’s possible behavioral effects was harmless. The court therefore affirmed in part and reversed in part.
