Supreme Court of Georgia

Parks A/k/a Harris v. State

October 16, 2017

Summary

The court affirmed the convictions, holding that the evidence was sufficient to support a rational finding of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt even assuming the principal witness was an accomplice. Independent evidence, including cellular-location records, eyewitness observations, and a reported admission, sufficiently corroborated that witness's testimony. The court also held that the witness's prior inconsistent statement to police was admissible as substantive evidence because she testified and was subject to cross-examination.
