Summary

The court held that an employer need not show the availability of suitable employment before suspending workers’ compensation benefits when the employee’s work-related aggravation of a preexisting condition has ceased to cause the employee’s disability. Because the employee had returned to his pre-injury baseline, the employer’s responsibility for benefits ended and no further factfinding was required. The court therefore reversed the Court of Appeals on that issue and affirmed the administrative and superior-court decisions.
