Supreme Court of Florida
Everett G. Miller v. State of Florida
February 29, 2024379 So. 3d 1109
Summary
The court affirmed Miller's convictions and death sentences for murdering two police officers. It rejected challenges to the admission and use of evidence concerning Miller's racial and anti-law-enforcement beliefs, the qualification and testimony of the State's expert, the CCP aggravator, guilt-phase limits on mental-health evidence, Florida's capital sentencing scheme, the mercy instruction, and the timing of victim-impact videos. The court also independently concluded that competent, substantial evidence supported the murder convictions.
